Our Mission.

Most athletes train everything except the system that controls it all. That's where we come in.
Built for athletes who want every edge.

Raising the Standard of Athletic Performance.

Allostasis Performance is dedicated to bridging the gap between physical training and mental execution — bringing the science of breath and nervous system regulation into the world of elite athletic performance. We address what most programs overlook: that the system controlling composure, focus, and pressure response is trainable, and that training it changes everything.

Our commitment extends to delivering:

  • Applied breathwork and nervous system coaching grounded in respiratory physiology, stress physiology, and sports psychology — not trend-driven wellness, but clinical science built for competition.

  • Performance frameworks that athletes and teams can actually use — before games, between plays, and during recovery — in repeatable, coachable formats.

  • A deeper standard of mental performance work that goes beyond motivation and mindset clichés, into the physiological roots of how athletes execute under pressure.

We believe the next frontier of athletic performance is internal. The athletes and teams who learn to regulate their nervous system, master their breath, and train their mental edge will consistently outperform those who don't. Allostasis Performance exists to make that training accessible, credible, and results-driven.

Meet Justin Ternes, DPT

Breathwork & Mental Performance Coach & Doctor of Physical Therapy

I help athletes, coaches, and teams train the one system most people overlook — the breath.

Breathing is more than a recovery tool. It's the fastest way to regulate your nervous system, sharpen your focus under pressure, and build the kind of resilience that doesn't fade when the stakes get high.

I came to this work through my own path — learning early that the body holds what the mind can't always reach. That experience led me through a doctorate in physical therapy, years of breathwork study with international experts, and eventually to the TEDx stage.

Today I work with athletes and organizations through 1:1 coaching, team workshops, and training programs designed to bridge the gap between physical performance and mental clarity.
